Coaster Metal Futon Frame, Silver Finish

This is, by all appearances, a substantially built, inexpensive futon frame. With the exception of the wooden slats, the frame is light-weight metal. All of the parts for assembly were present. Delivery was prompt (literally shipped only a few miles from where we live in Long Beach). The packaging was severely damaged, but the product was intact. The major difficulty is that the directions for assembly are not only sparse, but incorrect with respect to the placement of the springs. It took some imaginative experimentation to discover how things really went together. (I have assembled lots of products. This was one of the most difficult and annoying. It certainly hasn't been human factors tested like Ikea.) We have found that because the bottom, rear supports protrude, it cannot be placed flushed to the wall. This means a loss of room space. I'm not sure what the designers had in mind concerning room placement. This product needs to be re-engineered.

Great futon frame. Very sleek and fits my decor well. My box was missing the assembly instructions, but it wasn't terribly difficult to put together. Due to the design, the futon back doesn't sit flush against the wall, so do take that into consideration. The benefit of this design, though, is that the frame extends into a bed without having to move it away from the wall first.

This is a great futon frame.
It's metal, has no arms, and is extremely comfortable. I have the Day Dreamer Luxe 6000 mattress, and I think it's a perfect match.

The slats are made of wood.
Some of my slats came broken, but the company replaced them free of charge.

The reason this only gets four stars, instead of five, is because there isn't anything on the front side of the frame to keep the futon mattress from sliding off.
However, it hasn't been much of a problem thanks to the way the wooden slats are.
It would still be better to have the stoppers that you see on other, lower quality futon frames.

I am very lucky to have this futon frame.
