This review is from: Signature Sleep Contour 8 Inch Twin Mattress (Kitchen) We purchased this for my 8 year old sons new bunkbed. It came shrunk wrapped in a large, tubular duffel type bag. The packaging protecting the unit very well in shipping. This is a well padded mattress that does not feel springy. My son had a pillow top mattress before receiving this one yet he says the new one is much more comfortable. 21 of 24 people found the following review helpful: By Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Signature Sleep Contour 8 Inch Twin Mattress (Kitchen) maybe this is a futon mattress, but I got it for a twin frame, and I wouldn't have known the difference. The coils are comfortable and a bit on the "firm" side, which is fine for me.It came vacuum packed and stuffed in a cloth tube carrier, which was a bit tight and difficult to remove. Once the plastic wrap was cut (be careful not to cut the mattress), the air rushed in and the mattress popped into shape, ready to go. There is a slight "new mattress" smell, but it doesn't seem overpowering to me. I can't speak for its longevity, yet, since I just got it. But what you won't get here is a 10-year warranty or something like that, but for the price, I am willing to forego that and hope it lasts long enough. I also used the free shipping and saved quite a bit. 25 of 30 people found the following review helpful: By Hard Candy "Sweets" (Concrete Jungle) - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) I have had this coiled futon mattress for almost two months. It did arrive ingeniously rolled up in a large duffel bag and was quite heavy ( 60 lbs. I believe). I had to cut it open. When folded in couch position it buckles at the crease and juts out taking up seat room which is not comfortable. It is thick and springy and would probably be comfortable to lay on if not for the fumes. It has a very toxic smell but the directions say wait a few days for the "new" smell to air out. I opened the window in the room it's in. A few weeks go by I decide to have a seat on it. Good Lord, the fumes! So I keep airing it out and turn it over. I can't even be in the room it's in for too long (the living room where the T.V. is). I have had the window open since the end of September and a fan pointed at the mattress along with cups of vinegar in the room to try and absorb the smell. I sit in a chair to watch a...Read more |
