Baxton Studios Romano Convertible Sofa Chair Bed, Red

For over a month I searched the internet for a sleek looking bed and settled on this one. Putting it together is a breeze - just 4 screws to attach to the base. The chair bed is wrapped in a zippered fabric that is breathable and appears to be durable. Also, the color is not bright red but rather a more pleasant pleasing red as there are very light black lines woven into the weave that tempers the red color. One would assume that one could remove the zippered cover and wash it, if needed, but trying to re-zipper the product, I suspect, wouldn't be that easy. The chair opens to a regular size twin bed, so it has plenty of space for one to sleep comfortably. One can convert the chair to a bed very easily (note that the additional two legs to support the product in a flat bed position are hidden under the zipper). It took me longer to crush the packing box than to assemble the chair. I agree with the other reviewer - the bed is firm and I will be adding some extra cushion. The fabric is actually nicer and the chair wider than anticipated. First time I ever bought furniture online and I am more than pleased. Only downside might be that the chair is a tad low, which is fine for me at 5'2", but a taller person might find it unsuitable. Great stylish, functional solution for that extra bed!

I was looking for a very compact but stylish "sofa-bed" for my small art studio and this item fit the bill wonderfully! At 36" wide by 39" deep, this was the most compact I found and yet it pulls out to a nearly normal size twin bed (just two inches narrower than a twin mattress). It is easy to put together and easy to convert to a bed with hinged support legs discretely tucked away under a zipper in the fabric and actually embedded in the underside of the mattress. The fabric has a nice burlap-type weave, which you can't see in the online photos, and the color is a tasteful darker shade of red...not a cheep-looking bright red as it can tend to appear in some of the photos. As for the mattress, it is a VERY FIRM foam rubber, which may be a little too firm for some, but I like it as it better cushions the underlying supports and will hopefully hold up longer.
