I assembled a Super EZ futon frame yesterday afternoon for a friend. It was quite easy(EZ!), especially with a hex head bit in my adjustable drill. There were 30 hex head screws and 4 phillips head screws in the frame. A hammer is needed to tap two stop pins in place. I also needed a hammer to help tap the trim onto the edges of the frame, due to some slight warping. That aside, I'm impressed with this frame. The change from sofa to bed and back again is elegantly simple, and did not require a helper. Unlike a metal frame, there are no parts that will bend or twist or sag. ALSO, this is the FIRST futon I have actually found to be comfortable to sit on as a sofa !!! I am short (5' 1"), and the back of the sofa isn't so far away that I need pillows to be comfortable. I also like the fact that the wood is unfinished, so it can be stained or painted to suit. I may buy one of these for myself!

I love the design of this futon. It is simple, clean and looks durable. I put it together myself in an hour or so. Definitely use a power drill for the final wood screws at the end, if you have one. The instructions are easy to follow and it really is EZ. Also, the customer service is responsive and helpful. The only question I have is for the final side rails that are meant to be screwed on the edges of the piece. I couldn't get them flush with the boards they're meant to attach to. I didn't see a problem, but my husband may see fit to remove and re-affix them. All in all this design is brilliant and well designed. Oh, one final word, watch out for manufacturer's stamps on the wood when you're assembling it. You can avoid them showing if you do.

After receiving both deliveries, my boyfriend and I put the frame together, the instructions were easy to read but we did get confused here and there but once we screwed everything on we knew what to do next. You definitely would need a hammer for the stoppers in the back, so we only used a hammer and screw driver, YOU DO NOT NEED A DRILL unless you have one but if u don't the screw driver works just fine. I love it, I bought some bed raisers from Wal Mart and put them under so that as a sofa it can sit a little higher, I do not know how I would get it to work as a bed but I like the look! I am so happy I chose to buy a frame instead of an expensive futon set that is not worth it.
