It was relatively easy to put together by myself (though I had trouble getting the pieces of the metal frame to fit together too). It looked nice and felt very solid and sturdy. Unfortunately, after only 3 weeks the front support beam cracked with two-average weight people sitting on it. It looks as though the beam (the long board in front which the metal frame partly rests on) is constructed of two pieces of wood glued together, and a recent bout of hot weather must have weakened the bond. If you're feeling up to replacing the beams that are included in this set with sturdy boards of your own, this might be a good investment for you (it is a very comfortable frame--when it's not broken!). If not, I recommend buying something else. 8 of 8 people found the following review helpful: By This review is from: American Furniture Alliance Florenzia Metal/Wood Frame Full, Black Lacquer (Kitchen) I love how this futon looks, and it also feels high quality at first--very substantial and heavy. However, first appearances can be deceiving. This futon has almost fallen apart after about 3 years of use by 2 average weight people. One of the support bars has snapped at the joint and the screws have stripped the wood leaving the whole thing very wobbly. This would be great futon for a guest room where it doesn't get a lot of use. As an everyday couch... unfortunately it just doesn't hold up. 3 of 4 people found the following review helpful: By Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) First, despite the misrepresentation about being American Made furniture, all parts came in boxes clearly labeled MADE IN CHINA. Second, all parts are of obvious cheap quality (the support beams especially are cheap being 2 pieces of wood weakly joined in the middle). Third, the front support beam broke within 48 hours of assembly wherein exactly 3 people sat on the futon (not at the same time). Fourth, all metallic nuts and bolts were covered in grease and filth causing them to be very slippery and difficult to work with and creating a terrible mess. Fifth, instructions were vague and futon was difficult to assemble. Overall I am terribly disappointed and in the process of seeking some sort of...Read more |
