Comment: I and a few others have slept on it and used it as a coach. Everyone who has used it says the mattress is comfortable so far. That's probably because the outer shell is 20% polyester. Polyester is softer and maintains it's shape longer than cotton. So they get some points for that. Most companies don't use polyester, but just cotton which is cheaper. So most people that get this mattress will be surprised it's a little softer than thought - that's the reason.
But my main worry is that there doesn't seem to be enough padding between the springs and you. There's only 2 1/2 inches protecting you from the springs. The first 1 3/4 inches is the cotton/poly top and under that a very thin layer of only 3/4 inch foam. And really I would estimate that only maybe a little more than 1 3/4 inches really separate you from the springs (and that's a minute amount people!) because that 3/4 inch of 1.2 density foam isn't going to do much. A 1.2 density foam is a cheaper foam that will compress easily down to nothing. 2.0 density if the standard for excellent foam that will retain it's shape and form and last longer.
Also we don't know if the cotton and foam has been compressed and the polyester has been densified to help them retain their shape - It's a good selling point, so if they don't tell you, usually it's not. And if not, it will be easier for the springs to eventually break through to you.
As I said, so far the mattress is comfortable, but how long before you start feeling those springs come through is my real question? Compare: Gold bonds comfort coil and August Lotz comfort spring futon mattress - both are similar.
