This is a really nice, medium-firm mattress, yet not so firm that you feel you're sleeping on a rock. Just the nice, supportive feel of 100% cotton. We had a visco-elastic mattress with 4.5 density but hubby, who likes firmness, hated it. This is the perfect solution. The cover is rather coarsely woven but strong and smooth cotton as well. We just love it.

Measurements are accurate and true to size, and its quilted construction means it breathes like a charm. Have had it for a year now and it's held up well. We're all plus-size, big people, too, and it's held us up and not lost its shape. HEAVY HEAVY HEAVY! Lots of value for your money, not your flimsy little futon mattress. It arrived rolled up in plastic at our door, but hubby almost had a heart attack hauling it up the stairs! :)

Really one of our best purchases ever. Highly recommended.
