Our 8" cotton/Fibre-Foam futon is a good futon if you want something that is decent and fairly comfortable but only intend to use for a few years. For everyday use or if you plan to use it for many years we highly recommend our premium 9" futon. Like many products, for a few more dollars you can get something that will last 2-3 times as long. But this is still a good futon and we sell a lot of them to many people because it fits their needs and their budget. What does make this futon different from others of similiar thickness, however, is the special blended foam that is used, a 5" layer of high-resiliency Fibre-Foam. Fibre-Foam, unlike traditional urethane foams, does not breakdown over time when exposed to light and air. This special, blended foam was invented in Europe and it takes a special multi-million dollar machine, imported from 4 different European countries to blend natural cotton and polyester together. So in addition to this foam being more resilient and longer lasting than traditional urethane foams found in most other futons, the manufacturing process is much more environmentally friendly and even helps to recycle raw materials used in other parts of the futon manufacturing process. Another feature of this foam is that it is very flexible as this futon is very easy to roll up and put in the back seat of a 4-door or hatchback car when it's time to move.
