This is one of the best futons we have ever found for the money. A true 9-10 inch thick futon that will keep you happy for years. When buying a futon and frame, your most important decision is on the futon itself because this is where your comfort (or lack of) comes from. What makes this futon different are the two layers of 5 inch, high-resiliency Fibre-Foam. Fibre-Foam, unlike traditional urethane foams, does not breakdown over time when exposed to light and air. This special, blended foam was invented in Europe and it takes a special multi-million dollar machine, imported from 4 different European countries to blend natural cotton and polyester together. So in addition to this foam being more resilient and longer lasting than traditional urethane foams found in most other futons, the manufacturing process is much more environmentally friendly and helps to recylce raw materials used in other parts of the futon manufacturing process. Another feature of this foam is that it is very flexible. We know of no other futon this thick that can be used on just about any frame - whether a full length couch, a lounger or even a A-Frame (like our Stealth A-Frame).
